White Plastic? Grips
White Plastic? Grips
Greetings!
Have been carrying my P-64 off duty for almost 2 years now.
New to the forum, I was wandering around and saw a post
from " PapaBear " showing a P-64 with white plastic grips.
I followed the threads to another poster " Himmel "
Just wondering if those grips are for sale?
I would really like a set for mine.
Thanks for the help.

Hi, my son used to make wood grips, he also tried to make some plastic grips but that didn't work out too well. He isn't making grips now, has too many other things going. Not sure if papa's grips came from my son, but I figured I would tell you what little I know.

Thanks!
I will send an e-mail out about the grips.
The finish on my P-64 is great, and the white grips
would really make it stand out.
Appreciate the help.

Yep, those are the ones I want!
I sent Zee a PM as his e-mail came back
with a delivery failure notice.

To: Mr. Papa Bear,
As long as we are talking about grips,
I noticed your S&W 1917 picture.
Any ideas on where to get plain walnut grips for it?
The only ones I can find are at Eagle Grips and they
want like $ 150.00.
Mine belonged to my Uncle who carried it in WWII,
he traced it back to 1919. He put some stags on it
and it looks a little too cheesy.
Thanks

enemyace,
Sorry for getting back so late, had a family illiness, wife fell and fractured her right arm and I've been out of town. Other than gun shows for finding the smooth walnut grips for the Colt or S&W model 1917 .45acp, you might try ebay under WWI or WWII collectables, in the past I have found some decent deals there, some are well used and some are in decent shape thought and a whole lot less than $150, good luck, hope you find some to your liking.
Note: The M1917 grips for the Colt are different than the grips for the S&W.

Thanks, Hope your better half is ok. My aunt just did the same to her left arm.
I bought a set of plain walnut grips from Numrich a while back,
and don't have a clue where they went.
