Loose grips

Post by sovietgunguy »

I have a 1969 P 64 in excellent condition except it has really loose grips. I figured a simple tighten job would fix, but to my surprize, The screw hole that holds the grips is stripped. Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a small nut on the other side of the grips, easy to lose. It might be gone? :o

If the nut is still there you might try using a thin rubber washer, I had to do that on a couple of my P-64's.

1st check if there is a slot on one side of the nut . this faces out if nut is gone or stripped go to ace hardware they have a selection of the small metric nuts, if I remember it is 3mm. then follow Norms instructions on blueing if you want... but try Papapbears idea first.
