Stuck Open with round in Mag--Any Help?

I have a 1975 P-64. Was Unissued...never fired. After firing approx 8 times gets stuck open. Please...how to fix????

have you gotten it apart yet if so check the recoil spring the small end goes over the barrel first

martie, please keep coming back. There are several fixes and Norm can lead you though the common , and the unsual problems. I may even chime in.
