single-action mod?

my p-64 has an extremely light single-action trigger. is their any way to increase the trigger pull?

How is the DA on it if its easy , you can always put a heaver hammer spring on it
and see if that works.the P-64 has always a light SA trigger pull on it even with the heaver hammer spring on it though

I tried filing the single action notch on the hammer deeper with a triangular file. Gave me a longer and slightly heavier single action pull but still too light in my opinion. So I took the plunge and filed the single action notch completely off. Now I have a double action only P64, which I really prefer.

My P64 uses a cut down 25# Wolff recoil spring originally made for a H&K P7, polished inside and out so that it does not bind on the barrel or inside the slide. I used cold blue on both the inside of the slide and on the outside of the barrel after the polishing and neither shows any abnormal wear. The recoil spring is installed cut end against the chamber with the cut off end coil at the bottom (6 o'clock) position.

The hammer spring is an 18# Wolff spring originally made for a Walther PPK purchased from another forum member, as Wolff was not at that time manufacturing springs for our P64s.

The hammer follows the slide forward and stops when the sear intercepts the safety notch on the hammer.

Take-down is a bit of a PITA as the hammer cannot be cocked by I am used to it by now and don't have too much trouble with that.

I am really sturggling with the same issue
too light single action

it is 1973 model triangular hammer.

very heavy DA pull (a female of light build cannot pull it)
And then short take up -- light SA pull.

it is frustrating. I tried 16lb spring -- magazine drops.
now 18 lb spring no functional problems. But DA pull is horrible
and SA is to short and too light.

Never had an FTE or any malfunction, very presize -- love it
but hate the trigger, I just wish there would be other mods to try
-- as the Main spring thing -- does not really do it for me Neither
for the '73 model nor for the '69 model (where the DA pull not just
heavier but also not consistent).

Is there anything else? I would not mind sending them to somebody
so that they can fix them for a reasonable price -- as I love the 9x18
round and love how easy this thing carries.

I have 18 # in all 4 of mine and the trigger pull is fine, nothing will change the SA trigger pull it is what it is
never recommend anything lighter than the 18#

Do you think a heavier sear spring would increase the SA of the P64?

Maybe a combination of a heavier sear spring and heavier trigger spring?

no I don't think it will change the SA , I think the only way to change the SA is with metal parts and it won't change it that much,
