Norm! You are the man! It worked like a charm! I used a dremel with a grinder tip and flattened the coil a smidgen and made sure the outer edges were flush with the rest of the recoil spring.

I took the P64 with the new springs (thanks Norm!) out to the range yesterday. 300 rounds without a single hangup or misfire! The recoil wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but it was snappy to say the least. My hand feels pleasantly sore this morning! I'm a very happy camper with my new toy!

I just did a full spring change (hammer, recoil, firing pin). Here are the steps you should follow to change the firing pin spring:

1. Put the firing pin spring in a little baggie and stuff it in your toolbox.
2. Crack open a beer and thank me for saving you some insane frustration!

I wouldn't attempt unless you have 3 arms and a good reason

Pretty cool isn't it Brink. I read this hint of Norm's several posts back, couldn't believe that the little bit of steel thats removed from flattening out the spring would help get the slide back on that easily,,,,,, but it does! Belated thanks Norm! You don't realize the people you help just by responding to one guy. You help one and several hundred read it, nod their head and think "Oh yeah, now I get it". Thanks Again.
