to weld a trigger guard
take trigger off take spring out and spring detent
put trigger guard back in place with a pin of similar size line up trigger guard
I used super glue on it first let set up then I put some self cure plastic on it (you can use epoxy )
put it in some investment (you can make investment out of a 50 50 mix of plaster & pumice )
after it dries melt of plastic and weld then finish down & polish & heat treat & and drop in oil, don't over heat the trigger guard
because it will become to brittle and brake again

THANKS GUYS
it was the first time I ever wielded steel
I've brazed steel before
I have a little porosity on the surface but I think it will work

That's an impressive repair Norm. Nice work. I still wonder how it got broken to begin with. It does'nt get any stress.

red
I have noticed this before on a lot of old guns ,some of the parts are overly heat treated and the steel crystallizes so it brakes real easy

Hey Norm , Nice work ! Looks like you've repaired more than a few frameworks? If you use brown hard wax it might be easier to melt off than the plastic? Have you tried that? It hold really strong. (just a tip that I found helpful.) I wish I had your tool setup !
Does brass take regular bluing like steel? I have never tried it and am curious.
Thanks Norm, G
