Hey guys, Chris here.
Well, after $50.00 down the tube, and $20.00 more for the plastic, I finally was able to mold a grip that looks somewhat like the originals.
They are pretty rough, but they are only my second try. If one of you guys know how I could make a good mold, then I have the plastic and could start making these things for ya'll.
Here are some pics of the grip:

Chris ,
You're on to something. That's not a bad looking first grip. If you get that down pat I think you're gonna be a busy man for while.

Pretty impressive for just starting out! I imagine there is a lot of free info out there on how to mold plastic. I applaud your efforts, and will line up in back of Papabear.

Nothing worthwhile is easy. Thank you for going to the trouble and spending the time and energy to do this!

OK. Well, I ordered the mold stuff, so if it works, I'll start making them pretty soon...I can make them just about any color, as well as camo patterns. I'll post some pics of the next ones I make.
I am not taking orders as of yet. I will inform ya'll when I start.
Later, Chris

Put me in line behind the rest of these guys. Camo for me thanks very much!
That first try of yours looks great! I hope this works out and you are able to offer something up for us.

Chris here with an update on the plastic grip biz....
The link posted by Norm proved very helpful (Thanks NORM), and I have successfully made a mold for one grip panel. In learning how to make the mold, I used up most of the material, so I will have to save my nickels to get some more. When I make the other mold, I will begin taking orders. Meanwhile, If anyone has some flat grips that they could send me to make a mold off of, I would be grateful, as I only have a thubrest set. I would send you a free set custom color plastic grips when I return them. Here are some pics of my latest attempt in green marble color...It had a few air pockets in it, but I have since learned how to avoid them.
You guys let me know what you think is a fair price...
