Trigger guard pin works loose on P-64

Post by blackadderlxx »

Hello to all-
I'm new here but have been looking around a bit and really appreciate the forum.

I have a question about my 'new' P-64:

As I broke this thing down to do the main spring fix, the pin that the trigger guard pivots on came out, requiring some clamping to get back into place. I also had it happen the last time out at the range. Anybody deal with this or find a replacement for this pin?

Thanks in advance.

You can go to a hardware store and get a roll pin close to the same size trim it to length do not heat up and drop in oil to blue it this pin is made of spring steel just cold blue it

The pin in my gun worked its way out every time I went to the range. I replaced mine with a rolled pin, works real good. You have to use more force than you think to get the pin in but it does not work loose afterwards. A few hundred rounds later and the rolled pin in mine is holding.

Ok, thanks. I'm not exactly sure what a 'rolled pin' is for, so where would I look for it in my hardware store? Thanks.

Any hardware store or machine shop can hook you up with a roll pin. Take your pin and match it up with a roll pin just a very little larger. You are definatly going to have to tap it in. Good luck!!

Oh yeah, just ask anyone that works there where the pins are. Sorry about that.
