I think that they look great ... what do these run? It's amazing how we went from ZERO options to all these cool grips!

He's selling them for $20 a set, plus $4 S&H--some exotic woods, like cocobolo, cost a bit more...

I am so pleased with the quality and choice of woods in my new custom grips by Christian Bond (Custom CZAK Grips by Himmel Jr.?).

The grip flats are African Padauk with the backstrap in Purpleheart. The grips arrived nicely sanded, but unfinished as requested, and the fit to the pistol was excellent. I filled and finished the wood by multiple "wet" 600 grit sandings using Arrow oil finish with intermittent 12 hr dryings.

Looking thru my Dad's washer jar (remember those?), I found both a tiny flat & star washer to protect and lock in the grip screw & nut, respectively. Wow, no movement what so ever! Now for some pictures. My wife decided this Czak looked just fine in her hip pocket! Notice the new custom grips are on my 1968 model fitted with a plum safety lever and extractor.

Thanks again, Himmel and son for your contributions to making this forum a great one!

So ... are these wooden grips holding up to time on the firing line? I'm a little concerned about the areas that, by necessity, are pretty thin. Assuming that they don't fail I'll move onto the next question. Being a little lazy tonight, I didn't look to see if there is contact info in another thread ... how does one go about ordering a set like Warthog's? Are those the $24 shipped style?

Hey Saands--
I don't know about how they are holding up--but if you are interested in a set, just PM me and I'll give you the details. Ones like Wathog's go for $40 plus $4 S&H ( made out of cocobolo or other exotic woods), $30 plus $4 S&H made out of more common wood like walnut or maple --check out the "custom grips" thread in the "Buy and Sell" section...
