Snap Caps ? A-Zoom brand jams.

Post by SalemCat »

Finally broke down and bought some 9X18 A-Zoom Snap Caps for my P-64.

But they jam like crazy !

They don't seem to eject well at all.

Same Caps cycle fine in my CZ-82.

Advice ?

The possibility exists that the recoil spring is too strong. If you have changed out the springs, which is almost a must for these pistols, put the old weaker spring back in it. On these weapons, if the slide does not move fully to the rear all kinds of things happen. Might not be the problem but it only takes seconds to change out the spring. It's something to try at lease. I'm working on the assumption that it fires regular ammo OK. Hope that helps

Shoot first, Shoot straight, and hit what you're aiming at, if you can do these things and have six rounds of ammo, you'll have two thirds more than you need to prevail.

I have a Femaru M37 380acp that won't eject snap caps that work in other pistols.

It ejects fine at the range with live ammo.

I do have a-zoom snap caps; they do work fine in everything I have but the 1907 Dreyse. It ejects fine until I press the trigger. As soon as the pin strikes it, I can't eject it by cycling the slider.
