Belt holsters

Post by dgposton »

I know this topic has probably been covered many times, but...

What are my options for outside the waistband belt carry? I know Dick Funk is making some nice ones, but I checked the site and there is a 14 week wait period. Also, I'm not sure I want a holster that is custom made and hence non-returnable. I'd like to order some to "try out."

I ran across this one:

http://www.ambientsw.com/rcdhj968000r.html

It is for the Walther PPK, so I'm not sure it would fit exactly? What do ou think?

I am also considering RH pants pocket carry, but the problem is that my pockets are rather deep and the gun seems to get way down there and also flop around a bit. It also seems a bit heavy for this style of carry.

Thoughts?

I carry mine in the nylon molded holster - inexpensive, feels good, retention strap, contours to your waist - what's not to like?

DGPoston,
Nothing wrong with the Don Hume belt holster for the P64. That is a decent price for that holster. ;)

I have an older model IWB holster that Dick made way back. Never had a problem with it and it does what it is supposed to do: carry my P64 pistol. :) It is custom made and a great design.

If I needed another holster, I would not hesitate to order, wait in line for another product from Dick. 8-)

There are so many great options out there. I'd say you have to figure out what you want first, then go find it.

Just so you know, I guarantee my gear - if you don't like it for any reason, I'll take it back unused. I totally understand not wanting to wait though ;)

Good luck!

Is Tagua any good? I ran across one today at the local gun range. They have one designed for the PPK, I think.
