Re: "I'm looking for galil magazine adapter to try use M16 mags but it is very hard to find it. (and I need 35rd galil mags - anybody know when can i buy it)."

From the posts, it seems several forum members are very familiar with Polish weapony and would have connections in getting your requested hardware asked about above. There is a large gun show coming up locally in January and I will ask about your request. Hopefully, you will have some answers from others before that time.

Your photos are really appreciated!

A big thanks for the instructions and photos for replacing the hammer spring (Saands); for finding the VERY helpful tooling hole in the spring support rod (Garybuck); and for the recommended selection of the 18# Wolff spring (Bankerbilly).

I just finished replacing the original spring with the 18# from the Wolff pak (choice of 16,17,18 or 19#) and TetraGun fluoropolymeric grease was used in areas affecting trigger pull. I will make a comparison with two of my other 9x18 pistols: (a) the SMC-918 that is also copied off the PPK, but does not have the disconnector function when the safety lever is applied, and (b) the EG Makarov which has best trigger reputation of the Maks. I would like to give actual poundages, but I have not set up my fish scales as yet; however, many of you own a Mak or two and can relate - so here is a descriptive comparison for now.

DA Mode:
If the SMC and the EG have a 7-8# DA pull, the P-64 has a 9-10# pull. The P-64 pull stacks up more at the end of the pull than the other two pistols, but it is quite respectable during dry firing.
SA Mode:
This comparison is more difficult due to the lighter pulls, so I went thru an iterative trigger pull process using both hands. If the SMC had a 3# pull and the EG Mak had a 2 1/2-3# pull, the P-64 had a 2# pull and was the smoothest of the three pistols. I was surprised that the three were so close in SA poundage.

By the way, ask your wife or significant other to put a paper clip thru the tooling hole (Garybuck) while you are pushing down on the top of the rod-new spring-mag release assembly. Use a glove to avoid the sharp edges at the top when pushing. It works like a charm!

Am I satisfied with the results of the spring exchange?-yes, but I probably will replace the 18# with the original PPK spring (20#) offered by Wolff. I like to feel the trigger and I am concerned about the senario of needing more than one round defensively while wearing gloves. For this same reason I will not reduce my original 5.5# Glock 26 trigger down to the 3.5# factory pull. Any firearm used to inflict bodily harm must be defended if civil court action is taken, even if prior self-defense was justified.

A Continued Happy Holiday Season to All!

We hear that the P-64 was designed by a group of Polish Army officers.

Do we know anything about them? Are any of them still around? Are they household names in Poland, like Browning and Kalashnikov are over here, or did they quietly disappear back into the Army, once the project was done?

Hi this is picture of weapon and equipment of polish soldiers from Iraq.

Image

As You can see(from left side to right) there is 5,56mm rifle(wz.96) and four mags with ammo, 9mm x 18 P-83 pistol and mags, sun glasses, bayonet, US made bullet proof vest, P-83 leg holster, first aid kit, tool, flash light, gloves, US made camelbak, combat vest, helmet with goggles, cap. This is of course a basic equipment, normally soldiers cary more thing.
In P-83 mags You can see two variations of ammo. In a left side mag there is ammo made of bi-metal and on the right is brass ammo.

Guys,

I got my Polish Underfolder kit Tuesday afternoon and had the time last night to check out the condition. There is some finish wear on the Barrel and Underfolder Stock, I would estimate the finish at approximately 90%. This is good enough to leave the finish as it is and not do any refinishing when assembled. Mechanically, it is perfect, but you can see the finish wear on the Bolt where it operates, but it is not hurt at all. I don't remember the exact date on the front Trunnion, but I think it is 1985.

I hope to have time to get this one completed in the next couple of weeks. I think I will make my own receiver for this one instead of buying one at 100%. It sure takes a lot longer to build, but it is fun! I will post a photo when I get it completed!

Edit - Almost forgot to mention, the Polish Tantal kit in 5.45x39mm my friend in Iraq ordered will arrive at my house Friday afternoon. I am excited about building this one for him! I have a Romanian AK in 5.45x39mm I built about 10 months ago. This caliber is really nice to shoot!

I got home last night and my new Polish Holster had arrived. This one is Brown and came with the Cleaning Rod. No spare Magazine, but I do an extra spare so I can fill the pocket.

I don't see a date and the stamps are different from my Black holster. The best I can read, this has the following:

1. In a circle: K I and underneath 11/12

2. In a 2" long rectangle: Zakhdy Wvrobow Skorunych

under the above is: IX

to right of IX is: "TOM KOR"

Some of the letters may be off since it is a stamp, but the letters are close. This is amother great looking Polish holster. According to previous information, this was probably for the Polish Army.

Do any of you with holsters have one with these stamps?

tankerfrank,

I was hoping someone would "translate" the stamps. My biggest question is the stamp "TOM KOR". Did I get this stamp correct, can you read yours a little better?

Hi, For 100% in fact that stamp:
"Zakhdy Wvrobow Skorunych" in fact is "Zakłady Wyrobów Skórzanych" it mean - "Leather Products Factory"

IX - this is number of month - September

"TOM KOR" in fact is "TOMSKÓR" and this is name of this factory. This factory was located in Tomaszow mazowiecki(letters "TOM") and letters "SKÓR"("skóra" in polish means leather). Now they change name for "POLSKÓR"("POL" - Poland)

Whole stamp should look like this below(but of course in frame):
<center>
Zakłady Wyrobów Skórzanych
IX "TOMSKÓR"
 w Tomaszowie Maz.
1979 r.
</center>

Unfortunately it is rare to see whole stamp in holster.
