Thinking about a shoulder rig

Post by dfunk »

I tried this one on at a local shop with a Bersa 380 as a test and it was very comfortable - I'm thinking this woudl be the way to go for the upcoming winter.

The average price on these is about $45 and they are very adjustable - another thing I liked about it was that it uses Velcro and snaps as opposed to those terrible suspender-type clasps.

That looks pretty slick, I bet you would barely be able to feel the P-64 in a rig like that at all, with its slim profile. How good a fit does the mag pouch look? Does it hold two magazines or one?

Yeah, I could barely feel the Bersa, so the P-64 would be a little more "there", but it would also be well-supported. The mag pouch is generic in size. It looked like it would hold 2 mags if they were stacked on top of each other - definitely not side by side. The gun had a wonderful draw and re-holstering was very easy with one hand. The rig stayed snug even when I re-holstered and I didn't even have it completely adjusted to my body. Very nice.

That is a nice looking rig! It sure does beat that "crummy" shoulder holster for the Makarov. I have several of those thinks with the narrow canvas straps, the cheap leather, and that little clip for the belt or pants!

I'm not a fan of the shoulder holster for the Makarov. As I look into different carry methods for our beloved P-64, I'm actually starting to lean towards a Pager Pal, although I really like the shoulder rig.... :)

OK, I am going to show some of my ignorance; what is a "Pager Pal"? I assume it is a pager holster? Is there a particular one that you buy? Sorry for the dumb question, LOL!

Thanks for posting the information on the "PagerPal", I have never seen anything from these folks! That is one nice looking concealment holster; I am impressed! I would go with the Pager Pal, IMHO

Mother-in-law got me the shoulder rig for Christmas. Here are a few photos of how well it sits in it's holster...

Well, it so nice to be able to drive while armed and not have to stretch and contort in weird ways to get access. I'd say it's verry comfortable and nobody is the wiser that your armed. Holster is size 16.
