k31swiss wrote:1. Bullet description = Lead RN, Lee 365-95-1R, comes out about 100 gr with WW
3. Case used = 9mm cut down and 9x18 factory brass
3. Type and amount of powder = Solo1000, 3.0 gr
4. Primer = Wolf
5. gun used = P-64 and CZ-83
6. Special notes: Medium load. powder is very clean. My standard load, have shot thousands. Have used both 50/50 lube and Dare lube.

I think that's the same mould I'm using and it dose throw a heaver bullet , I think thats why I weigh all bullets now and don't believe what's on the box it came in then get a basic average before reloading them

never heard of Solo 1000 , but I don't know all of the powders any more
sounds like a good load

Solo 1000 is a single base shotgun powder from Accurate. It is extremely clean burning. Its burning speed is between Bulleye and Red Dot. I had gotten a sample of it and some other powders from Camp Perry match. Tried them with .45 ACP, .38 and lightly loaded .357, and Solo 1000 was cleanest, most accurate, and measured easily. It is a fluffy powder so they package 5 lbs. in a jug that might hold 8 lbs. of a dense, stick powder. This makes it great for medium loads as it fills the case more.

Clocked my load of 3.0 grains with the Lee 365-95-1R and averaged 890 fps.

Recently got a new mold from Cast Boolit Forum group buy. A truncated cone that weighs 95 grains. Looks like a small version of Lee's .45 ACP 452-230-TC. It shoots even better and clocked at 940 fps with 3.0 gr of Solo 1000.

k31swiss, clean burning and accurate is good enough for me, did you happen to chrono the .45 ACP, .38/.357 reloads also?

I did chrono a few. I'll get some more data soon. Here's what I've got:

.357 in T/C Contender, 10" barrel, 148 grain wadcutter (Lee mold 358-148-WC):
3.0 gr Solo1000 805 fps

.357 in Python, 6" bbl, 158 grain RF (Lee mold 358-158-RF):
5.1 gr Solo1000 1005 fps

.45 ACP in Colt Govt. Model, 230 grain TC (Lee mold 452-230-TC):
4.6 gr Solo1000 775 fps
