New Rock Island Armory CS

Post by smbob »

I just picked up a Rock CS. I got a set of cocobollo double diamond checkered
grips off of eBay for it for around $25 and a Pearce finger groove insert. This
gun is NICE! I'm going to try and get out this weekend and throw some rounds
down the pipe of this bad boy and my new MS as well. I think some
new sights are in this guns future. I like it though! It points so well! WOW!

Great looking gun! Is that an Officer sized frame?
If I had G.I. rear sight cuts on mine, I'd opt for the Yost retro rear sight: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?p ... t=11082005

Thanks Pal! Yea, it's a Officer size frame. I'm semi old school when it comes to
handgun sights. I grew up with the classic red ramp front/white outline rear
on my Smith & Wesson model 27 357 Mag. That combination just hooks up
perfect for me. Night sights and white dots just don't work for me for some
reason. Fusion Firearms sell a set of white outline sights for the 1911 series
70. They have a white front sight, but I think I can fix that.

I know what you mean - I'm pretty picky about sights, too. I have a blacked out Novak rear on mine with a single white dot up front...nothing fancy, but it's my favorite setup for a carry gun. I find having marks on the rear distracting.

Great Looking Pistol, I love a classic black fish with the double diamond cocobollo grips! Very Nice indeed!
