Saiga 12!

Post by trent »

so I stopped in the local gun store yesterday and what to my wondering eyes did appear, but a saiga 12.

I went back this morning and picked it up. I actually got a good deal to.

the tag said $599 (same as the internet prices) but when the guy rang it up (I didn't notice when he did it) it came up to be $593 out the door, once I figured this out I (being the nice guy I am) brought it to the clerk's attention. he then went to the back room and talked with the manager, came back out and said "that was our error, Merry Christmas".

This thing is sweet, now I just need more mags.

Pics will come whenever I convince myself to set this thing down and find the camera ;D

I really love my S12. I picked one up a couple of years ago and use it mainly for duck hunting. The finish and the action work very well in the rough enviroment of duck hunting. For fun I picked up 3 of the drum mags available, makes clay pidgeon shooting a blast. I started with the saiga line of shotguns some years ago when they brought the 410 into the US. The 410 has been my dove, quail and small game shotgun since I bought it. My S20 I converted to a side folder with rufle sights just because I wanted to see how easy it actually was to convert one of these shotguns.
early picture before S20 was converted and the drums had arrived.

all I need now is mags, Ive found some places where I can get 5 rounders for 19.95 each (if you buy 3) but I need to find some cheap (price not quality) 10 rounders, anyone seen any?

the best Ive found so far is promag 10 rounders for 49.50 before shipping.

Have not had much luck with any other hi cap mags other than the 20rd drum and the AGP's for what it is worth.

6x6pinz,
Nice collection there.
I can't help but ask, but do you have a Pinzgauer 712? If so post a picture of that for everyone. They are awesome.

It is a K-var handguard, SAW grip, Dinzag added the rifle sights to the gas tube, I added a taller press on front sight, polychoke, Tapco folding stock, G2 trigger group and the trigger guard is one that was made for the S12 but I had to do some modifictions to make it work on the S20. All in all makes a real good bunny gun. I have not had the opportunity to take it out after birds yet but it will be interesting.

good to know, I have a spare ak handguard somewhere (that'll add a compliance part!)

bird gun? this thing could take out helicopters, I think it'll do fine against birds.
