went to the gun show today

look at every 45 auto in the place ,I wanted another 45 auto trying to keep up with papabear
finally I found one that I could afford, BALLESTER's were going for 450 to 500, there was a brand new High Standard almost the same size as I wanted but GI mags would stick out the bottom, it was going for 450 plus tax and call in, so I ended up getting this one for 350 plus tax and call in it came out to379.50 also pick up two GI mags for 8 bucks apiece

Norm,

Hey that's a supper deal on the Charles Daley .45acp. Looks in great condition too. $350 for a .45acp is hard to turn down and the Charles Daley's are good .45's and the size of it makes it nice all around carry, and a new set of grips will really dress it up. I really like the grips that Grip Guys have for the 1911's, Star's and Ballester Molina's. I've got another set of Bocote grips coming from them for the Ballester Molina., you can't beat their prices and quality.

That is awesome Norm...can't wait to see the grips you put on that one!! I would really like to pick up a 3 1/2 inch barrel, compact sized 45 as well. Charles Daly has a pretty good reputation...I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hey Norm ! SCOOOOORE ! I had no idea they were that small! That is a good comparison for sure. Now I am rethinking what I like. Let us know how it shoots and does it kick bad? It looks like it is a pretty fancy gun. Does it have custom parts on it? like that trigger, is that a stock CDaley trigger and hammer? That thing is just flat out sharp, methinks. Thanks for the pics. G

I've had to work on it a bit so it would feed my loads reliable , I change the recoil spring in it and polish the ramp now it seems to work good

the last target I shot 3 rounds at 10 ft

Image

the 3 slugs I pulled out of the second phone book one live round and one bullet before sizing and reloading

Image

the recoil is no worse than any other 45
