Anyone have any experience with the above pistol? I seem to like off-beat weapons and the .38 super automatic certainly fills that bill.

You see alot of comp. shooters use the .38 super so there must be something good about it.

ursishoribilis,

I haven't had any experience with the Taurus PT38S. Image

but if it is anything like the Taurus PT 145, Image

or the Taurus PT 1911, Image

then it is one heck of a pistol. I am very happy with with both the PT145 and PT1911. I don't CCW with either due to their size or bulk but I do carry one or the other in my vehicals when traveling out of town, and I keep the PT145 loaded in my home at all times, 10+1 rounds of .45acp in a small light weight pistol that I know goes bang every time is a nice feeling.

+1 with Papabear,
I keep a S&W Mod. 60 on my night stand, wife has an XD-9mm on hers. I keep a P-64 on my computer desk. My AR & AKs are loaded in the safe. My truck gun is a Bettera 92-FS & a lil .25 auto in a "go" bag behind the seat. When I carry, its a P-64 with pow-r-balls & a 32 Kel-Tec in my back pocket. The wife carries a 32 kel-Tec also & her SUV gun is a Glock .40.....I think we are covered. :D
