My posts are getting kinda scarce lately because I've started the police academy, I've gone through one week so far and am enjoying it.
aside from long boring class hours I'm constantly doing PT (physical training) learning hand to hand combat and shooting stuff.
the best part so far was doing a quick draw contest where I placed 2nd out of 21 people

Update:
I'm tired, but getting used to the schedule. the 2nd week in and we've gone to the range about 4 times (most places only teach guns on the week you qualify, this place apparently does it the entire 11 weeks ;D) and the same goes for DT (Defensive Tactics) aka making your training partner tap the floor yelling "OK, OK STOP AHAA!" (mind you that has been me several times, especially when the instructor used me as a training aid on pressure points)
the classes are pretty much boring, but the different teachers bring a lot of "on the road" wisdom that I really appreciate.
oh and because someone is bound to ask, I've been using a Glock 19 with a trijicon peep sight that I borrowed from a good friend.
The gun is accurate and the shooter is getting there. ::)

Keep up the good work Trent...I am sympathetic, my son is finishing a mini-academy for the County Sheriff's department this week to be a reserve officer until he can qualify for the next full academy in the fall. He is coming home evenings and telling stories about videos etc and I was the one tapping out on the floor the other day as he demonstrated the pressure points you mentioned... :'(

hey guys I'm trying to buy some bulk 9x19 luger ammo for the academy (I'm burning through rounds and wally world just went up a couple bucks in 9mm) I found silver bear at j&G for like $7.something a box and was wondering if it would work well in a Glock (mis feeds/jams/bad accuracy=bad)

Let me preface this post by stating that I am NOT a fan of Glocks, and will never own one. OK, now that's out of the way.....
Trent,
From every Glock owner I know swears that they will feed anything, and always go "boom" when you pull the trigger....no matter what you're feeding them.

Late kudos from me, Trent! Is Glock the "issue" firearm there?
