I love cornbread...never had it fried.
I love buttermiilk biscuts / pancakes / fried chicken dipped in it first...never drank it straight.
Now I've been around a little just not that much down south. I'm italian so I've eaten the snails, octopus, squid, eel, brains and cow stomach lining. You could dip some of that stuff into buttermilk and pretty much anything else and it would still taste like... snails, octopus, squid, eel,brains and cow stomach lining...yuk! :'(
What I consider southern cooking are grits, biscuts and gravy, chicken fried stea, of course fried chicken, Bar-b-que ("any meat" smoked) and ribs!!!
Damn I'm hungry :-/
