Well, after the birth of Dennis's daughter he is operational and shipping. It took a month to receive my grips, but hey, the children come first. No complaints about the wait here.

They are really pretty. Zebra Wood. Smooth. Shellac finish.

The only thing I don't like is the screws Dennis uses. They are not long enough. I went to Ace hardware and picked up an M3 phillips head .50 pitch, as that is all they stock in that thread. I used Perma Blue from Wal-Mart to blue the washer, screw, and nut.

dennis makes some fine grips. I have some ordered and can't wait until I get them. I am going to have to get some of those zebra wood grips. Man those are smooooth!!!

please excuse my ignorance on this one-what is it to blue the washer screw and nut? Is that like a paint? I am way behind you guys on this

Perma Blue is a chemical metal bluing agent used to "blue" steel parts. It is not paint. It reacts with oxygen to produce rust, believe it or not, which is what gun blue actually is. You can touch up scratches and wear on guns with it. It leaves an almost undetectable repair to certain types of scratches and damage.

It works well on model railroad projects as well

Dennis uses steel hardware on his grips. I, personally prefer black or blue gun hardware to silver, and I am really picky about small parts. This stuff works very well for me. You can get it at Wally World for aroung $3.00. Just keep it air tight after opening, as air (oxygen) will contaminate it. Pick some up. It's great for touch up work on the P-64.

Hello everyone, this is Scott. I recently found this website after I bought my P-64. Yesterday I sent Dennis an email, to buy the zebrawood grips. They look fantastic. However it appears the zebrawood grips don't have a thumbrest?

I think you will find that a thumbrest on the P-64 just gets in the way

You'll really like this board. Lots of great guys with similar interests and vast knowledge.

On my set of the Dennis grips the screw inserts from the left side.

I believe that all of his grips are oriented in this manner, although I am not sure. I bought a set of Dennis PA-63 grips from another member of this forum and they are set up the same way. Dennis offers custom work, so there may be different setups.

I really like these grips. It just takes a little TLC with the hardware to really make them perfect. Dennis does great work.

If Dennis offered a Mosin Nagant stock in Zebra Wood I would be first on the Order List

Dennis has a problem I think we all wish we had...too many orders and not enough tome to fill them...

He does do great work. I asked him about making a set of grips for my Colt 1903 but he is just to busy to experiment with it at this time...besides, how many of those is he likely to sell???
