When you'll show up here next time, I'll have to introduce you to TEXAS TORPEDOS!
aka deep fried jalopinos, filled with all kinds of good stuff that's bad for you.
I drive thru Irving every day to & from work, and should be able to find you.
As to meet and greet, we can make it fun at some place like DFW Gun Range.

I'm 35, grew up a Navy brat (we were stationed in Rota, Spain when those F111s bombed 'ol Khadafi for the Locherbie terror incident, funny how the 'War on Terror' started with 9-11 for some folks), worked as a mechanic/parts guy in college, but didn't finish. Currently an IT merc (worthless contractor) for a big IT company supporting a big national retail company(I don't expect that to last too much longer, I'll be replaced with a third worlder somewhere with no IT or English skills). I ended up marrying a great woman that I met while dad was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, and that's how I ended up settling here in IL. I have two daughters 5 and 3 years old, and thank The Almighty every day for them.

rmeron~ Welcome ! Thanks for your Service ! I hope you get those two Granddaughters out shooting soon !!! Sounds like something all young ladies should be out learning. I have 7 grandkids! 2 boys, 5 girls. The 2 Boys are gonna inheirit a whole mess of guns !lol I have only had one of the boys out so far (5yr.old) and he thought it was his birthday or something when we finished haha. He had a great time and already three of the girls have asked to go along ! Well, I hope you get time to read thru the posts and enjoy the site ! There are alot of wonderful/smart guys here and they are very helpful ! G

rgbydand~ Welcome ! Good to have you online ! I hope you can find alot of friends here . personally, I can agree with you. These are tough times but they didn't start on 9/11. We have been attacked in so many ways . "The measure of a "great" country is made by counting how many people want OUT and by how many want IN"~Tony Blair.
Alot of jobs have left here, true, somehow America keeps paying the tab. Pray for change and leaders with wisdom and it will all work out.
What year of P-64 do you have and do you enjoy shooting it? Mine is a 1977 model and I think it is a great shooter and very accurate at long distances too ! Some here say it kicks too much but i like that and i don't think it is bad at all. have you had a chance to read thru some of the older postings? there is a ton of great info here from some VERY wise shooters and gun lovers in general. Enjoy~ and Both of you ,post back often ! Thanks. G

"Sounds like something all young ladies should be out learning."

I took my daughter (16) to the range yesterday. She was shooting her CZ-82. We were shooting 8" targets with about a 3 or 4" 10 ring at 7 yards. 10 shots, she shot a 100-8X. A mother and daughter outside the glass were watching and enjoying.

Two homies on the end lane kept getting in trouble for rapid firing. At 7 yards, they were missing their paper (~18"x24") and getting a pattern rather than a group when they managed to hit it. I hope they were watching her target, too! :D

We need to get all the girls shooting that we can!

Garry,

Thx for the welcome. I'm gonna post a sort of "1st shoot" report on another thread so I dont hijack this one.

fattie my friend I find myself in Rockland, ME a few times a year. I work for a automobile manufacturer and visit a samll dealer there quarterly...except this time of year with the weather being cold and snowy! I live in the Boston area and travel parts of MA, VT, NH and ME! We will definitely have to plan a hello and a cup of coffee or a lobsta or two!!

Missed this the first time around! I'm 22 and work for a Veterinary hospital/boarding kennel in Nashville, TN. Keeps the bills paid until I can get around to going back to college.

Fun thread!!! 46 yrs old & single guy. Techie. I work with robots for a large electronics company in South Florida. I have fantasies about being a professional poker player, but I have a habit of going broke, so consider that a form of entertainment when I (rarely) have spare money I don't need. Been handling and shooting guns since I was a kid. I also LOVE the outdoors and am outside mostly when not at work, and it doesn't matter why - yard work, shooting, canoeing, beach, walking trails, cycling, it's all good! I love year-round outdoor weather and outdoor shooting ranges and try to get to the beach weekly or more often. Shoot about once a month or more often.

fmc18, my best advice is if you're going to blow the money anyways don't gamble it away blow it away (get it ?!? :P) buy ammo and have fun with your investment instead of funding an addition onto the casino!! ;D
