Is this normal?

Post by mmafan »

I bought my P-64 used off of gunbroker.

The previous owner had polished the trigger bar to where it is nice and shiny, but as far as I can tell he just polished it, no metal was removed.

The gun functions fine and after a 100 rounds no problems.

However, if I have the slide off and accidently pull the trigger and drop the hammer, the trigger spring will come off the the trigger bar.

Is this normal or did the previous owner's polishing the trigger bar cause this to happen?

I have actually thought about rebluing the trigger bar to provide some more friction on the spring to keep it in place.
