P-64 Independence Day Shoot *Results Posted*
This thread is for members of this forum to post the pictures of the targets that they wish to enter into the first Post-In Shooting Match.
Rules of the match are as follows:
Qualifying pistols are the Polish P-64 and "honorary" P-64's only. Honorary P-64 means: PPK clones chambered in cal. 9x18mm Makarov (PA-63's and BR-61's). No CZ-82's, Makarov's, etc.
Shoot 3 strings of 5 shots at a distance of 10 yards to the target. Each string should be on its own target.
The official target http://makarov.com/graphics/targets/GridTarget.pdf
Use the ammunition of your choice.
Score will be determined by points in rings. Breaking the ring counts for the higher score.
This is a free hand shoot ONLY; no resting on a bench, sand bags, machine rest, etc.
Enter the match by posting a picture of the best out of your 3 targets. Pictures should be in message board format (640x480 size).
Please post only the picture of your target in this thread; we all enjoy giving and receiving comments and compliments about each others shooting prowess. However, in order to maintain simplicity for our judges and for each other, please post your additional comments in another thread.
In the event of a tie you will be asked to submit your second best target.
All entries should be posted by midnight (24:00) July 4, 2007.
Participants can donate $2.00 to this site by using PayPal. The donation is not mandatory and will not effect your score or the outcome of the match. Donations can be made by going here http://p64.home.insightbb.com/main.htm and clicking on the PayPal icon on the bottom left corner of the page.
We are all trusting each other to follow these rules.
The most important rule of all is to have fun, shoot safely and enjoy the friendly competition on the best forum on the Internet!

Okay this was actually my first target, it only got worse...I'll post that in another thread!!
This was shot from a 1967 P64 at 30 feet with 95 gr, FMJ, Sellier&Bellot ammo.
47/50 (breaking the line counts for the higher score...right?)

1971 P-64, 95 gr Fiocchi ammo
Now that I am posting this I see why I should have used a dark background....There are five shots on the target, the one in the upper right of the 9 ring is very hard to see. I'll have to see about scanning it again with something behind it....
I am looking forward to the fall shoot. I had only fired about 30 rounds through the gun before shooting the target I'm posting. I think I could do better with a little practice.

43/50. 5 shots @10 yards, Norinco Green Box ammo. My practice strings were tighter and more precise then my entries , unfortunately I chose to use a different target to practice with so I couldn't just submit one of those ::). This is allot of fun guys, I'm glad I could shoot with you (so to speak).
**add edit** Just made my donation.

Forty years ago the Army labeled me a marksman, and I can still shoot rifles pretty well, but with semi-auto pistols I let others test ammunition for accuracy!
I used my 1973 model and fired Jing An (Chinese) ammo.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!
I double checked everyone's score and approximated group size. Scores were added with a possible of 50 points, bullet holes that broke rings counted for the higher score. I measured group sizes by noting hole locations on the entry targets with their respective locations on a paper target and measured the distance across the groups furthest points.
Place Shooter Score/50 Group Size
1 Boreclear 48 1.6"
2 NormSutton 47 2.1"
3 Carguy 47 3.2"
4 Papabear 46 3"
5 Spyguy 45 3.7"
6 Hookedonsks 43 2.8"
7 Barnett3006 43 3.2"
8 Redfestiva 43 3.3"
9 Manicmechanic 43 3.7"
10 Nbender 42 4.1"
10 Blinddog 42 4.1"
Blinddog and Nbender are tied.
I used Blinddog's best out if his 2 submitted targets for scoring.
