Mine from CF was made 84 pistols before yours. 1970.
Very cool.
The condition of my P-64 leads me to believe it was unissued.
How about the condition of yours?

Mine looks identical to yours. I would say unissued, and possibly hardly fired if at all. The safety even feels like it hasn't been broken in yet. I don't see really any wear on the bolt face or feed ramp. Magazine looks mint. I see maybe a slight (and I mean I am looking really hard) bluing smudge on the left side of the slide, but not on the right side. My bore looks just like yours.
How is your double action trigger? I don't think mine is that bad really.

It's stiff but I'm not going to change it....at least for a while.
I know a hammer spring will lighten it up but my fear is that the single action pull would be too light to be safe in a self defense gun.

Yes the lighter hammer spring makes it a "hair trigger".

I found a great deal at a local gun store on 9mm Makarov ammo so I picked up a couple of boxes.
It was Russian made steel case ammo and I got it for $12.00 for 50 rounds....very nice.
After a few shots I learned that at 10 yrds I needed to hold at about 1 o'clock to drop my shots into the center of the target.
I had put a dab of orange fingernail polish on my front sight and also changed out my grips for some cheap e-Bay grips.
Here is what happened to my $20.00 e-bay grips.
Needless to say, cheap e-bay grips were no bargain. I noticed the slight flaw that looked like a freckle on the left grip when I got them....no biggie.
The next problem was the wide gap at the back strap area that required glue and clamping to close up. I was hopeful but no joy.
As a tip....Forget trying to put on the slide without grips on the pistol.
At the end of Range Day II, I love my little pistol.

The P64s are back to $200 on Classic Firearms.
Just a heads up.

I picked up a set of Marschal's that were in his "ready for shipment" lot. It took about 8 days or so to receive them. I was actually astonished at the shipping time from Budapest, Hungary. This isn't my pistol, but those are my grips. They are wonderful. The fit and finish are fantastic. No function issues thus far.
