I would rather have the pain in my hand from a firearm discharging. Than the pain caused by what is coming out of the other end of the firearm .

I just got my Polish Iron grips on.

They feel good, so does the extended mag release.

But there is one problem. My grip screw is too short for them.

I know they won't come off, but there is something in my mind that just can't accept having an empty hole there. Anywhere I can get a longer grip screw cheap?

Let Russ know that it does not fit.

Should be a 0.5mm(M3) screw with a .50 pitch, you should be able to find one at any hardware store. Take your original screw and nut with you so you can try to find the closest match.

First thing to do is watch his grip installation video again and make sure the grip is properly seated in the frame cut outs.
Then see if the screw is long enough. If not then I'd definitely contact him with your concerns.

I've been working thru the same issue with Russ on my grips. He thinks he sent me a grip from the first run that had one of the screw pockets cut too shallow so he's sending me a new grip to see if they make a difference.
I should have them in a couple of days and we'll see if he's right.

Rider, try as I might, I cannot get these grips to budge. Think I'll need a razor knife to get them off. For the time being, it's just sitting here on my desk, and from time to time I try to budge them.

I've watched the part of the video where he takes them off, and stood baffled as he does it easily. For myself, it won't move, though I copy his motions as close as I'm able.

the bottom corner of the beavertail is not flush with the frame and as a result has a razor sharp edge that protrudes quite a bit. this gets bashed into your hand every time the gun fires, causing the pain.

the solution is to cover the beavertail with an aftermarket grip. or wear gloves.

Yea I ended up cutting them off as well, it was really a shame because I liked the way they felt but the trigger bar interference made the gun unrealible and dangerously light in single action. I’m hoping the new semi rigid grips are available soon.

I admit that I have a tough time removing my PolishIron grips but I have attributed it to the arthritis in my hands. I still manage to get them off every time. Sometimes they require a little "peeling" away to allow them to clear the frame before trying to slide them off.
Darned shame you guys cut them off. They really are nice IMO.

For me I found wedging a small screwdriver between the frame and grip on both sides of the mag well releases the grip from the frame cut out and it comes off pretty easy.
