I was just in the local Academy Sports store, they had Monarch 9MM Makarov ammo on sale. This is 94 grain FMJ in a lacquered steel case, 50 rounds for $9.99. I bought one, should have bought more I suppose. The box says that the velocity is 1135 fps yielding 270 ft. lbs. energy. That seems way too high to me, is this loaded that hot? I would appreciate any info anyone has, I have not shot any of it yet and won't until I feel a little better about it. Thanks.

I would like to add that Academy has free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Not sure anyone can beat this price. I believe the Mfg is Barnaul (Made in Russia)

According to youtube videos Monarch 9X18 ammo does not seem to be loaded as hot as the box says. That suits me fine, I am not into hot loaded ammo, especially in a gun as small as the P-64.
