Hey guys, just bought a CZ52 from a local dealer today. Can't wait to shoot some surplus ammo this weekend Makarov.com has the 9mm Luger barrels in stock and I was thinking about getting one. Does anyone on the board have any experience with these barrels on a 52? FYI - I'm almost done with the MN 91/30 refinishing. Once finished, I'll post some pics of it, the 64 and the 52. Have a great weekend!

2dogs,
I have heard that they work well, and you can use the existing CZ-52 mags, but I have heard about occasional jamming with the 9mm, so I wouldn't rely on that for self-defense. On the other hand, the 7.62x25 is more powerful, so if you wanted to carry the CZ-52, you could load it with 7.62 ammo for self-defense, but use the cheaper 9mm for fun and plinking.
Before you buy, you might want to check out Sportsman's Guide. They had a sale on the CZ-52 9mm barrel a little while ago, and while I don't recall the price, I do recall being tempted to get it (even though I really like the 7.62x25 stuff).
CZ-52's are a very fun gun, aren't they?

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll just hold off on barrel switching and keep my 52 shooting the 7.62 rds. The sad thing is, I haven't been able to shoot it yet >:( Maybe the wife will let me out of the house for an hour or two today before the sun goes down

I don't understand converting 2 the 9mm. 9's are cheap n plentiful so why wear out the 7.62 surplus shooting a bunch of cheap 9 rnds? @ least half the fun of the 52 is throwing out a 6" flame...............

I just love that feeling of compression when you shoot off a full power 7.62x35. It used to actually part my hair--when I had more hair to part!
I'm surprised that the 9mm ever displaced the 7.62x25.

I'm thinking about that statement........nope, not in my jungle!!! I'll stay with the 7.62x25, the 9mm is ok, but just for busting paper.
