the only reason for that pin to walk out it there is cosmoline in the spring that pushes down on the detent plunger that holds the pin in , clean the gun ,there is a detent in the pin, that's why you use a vise to put it in and take it out , you need to push the trigger housing in a little to remove the pin , if you don't do it this way you will shear the pin in half, or damage the hole , watch what you are doing or you will bend the barrel down ,

you should be able to push the pin out , with out hammering on it

Great post. I've had the same issue and still can't get the pin into the holes of the trigger guard. Looks like I'll have to try to find someone with a mill to drill the hole bigger to fit the pin. I thought I bought the wrong pin at first too until I bought a second one and it was the same size as the first! Mine has been sitting in pieces for several months now. Glad someone found a solution!
