EUREKA! Think problem solved

Post by jebbh »

Ultra-sonic bath cleaned pistol. Problem: Pistol cycled, round (or snap cap) chambered -pistol fires fine, but when made safe, dropping hammer, then switching to fire, trigger fails to engage and flaps several pulls before engaging. Believed it to be a disconnector/ slide interface problem, disassembled and polished all interacting surfaces. To their credit J&G willing to send me replacement disconnector & Safety. Said only 3 of 1,000 pistols w/ problems. After above it was improved but still not reliable. I noticed it was fine w/ empty chamber. What could be different? The loaded chamber indicator system? I tapped plunger back w/ wooden dowel, sprayed in break Free & compressed air, then Remoil. Now it seems reliable. Think plunger stuck, not letting slide close 100% (maybe explains light strike some have had). Think the slide not completely forward not allowing disconnector to rise up and activate trigger

Take the loaded round indicator out. It's not that hard. You should be able to clean it up.
