Well, just had to have a P64. I took a ride over to J&G in Prescott this morning and asked to see a Hand Select P64 at $249.95. They brought out 2. Both guns are CAI Imports. First was a 1970, second was a 1977. Both were perfect. I bought the 1970. Also bought an extra magazine and a box of Brown Bear ammo. After tax I was out the door at $307.55. I like the single action trigger pull, but the double action is bear. I will takedown, clean & lube, get to range. I hope to learn more on this forum.

I can tell you that you'll never get the da to work reasonably unless you swap hammer springs.
In any event enjoy, these things are fun and reliable.

I gave the gun an ultrasonic cleaning, lubed, and re-assembled. That DA trigger is still awful. I will order a Wolff 18 Lb hammer spring for sure!

Just took the P-64 out for a little fun. Using Brown Bear ammo. Fired 35 rds for effect. No failures. It started throwing empties about 25 ft straight out, then gradually to my rear. Packed some felt recoil for sure. Just ordered the 18 lb hammer spring and a 22 lb recoil spring from Wolff for $16.17 shipped. I'll wait until they're in before I shoot it again.
Re: New Member with New P64
Well, changed out the recoil spring for a 22 lb Wolff. Mainspring for an 18 lb. Formed cases from 9x19 to 9x18. Loaded Missouri powder coated bullets over 3.5 gr HP-38. To the range.
Fired 50 rds. Recoil was better, but that DA trigger pull is still heavy. No malfunctions. I like this gun.
