Duracoat Refinishing P-64 and Mak Available

TTH WOW ! That Diamond Plate Stealth AR15 looks fantastic ! 500 continuous hrs. of Salt Spray? is there alot of ocean around Kansas? crash cymbal !!!!!

sorry !!! I had to ask. I am only trying to be funny . I live "next door" in MO .
Do you know how they get that glassy looking deep blue finish? I am talking about the blue that looks like it is at least 1/8" thick or more. like it has glass around it. is that a coating of some kind? i have blued my first few guns and i know that the more you keep bluing and steel-wool-'ing' it and repeating it over and over looks better each time . but that really deep "glass-like" bluing seems as it would take far too long to achieve for using that "rinse/repeat" method in the fast manufacturing process of todays wal-mart guns.
Thanks , G

No I am not sure about that bluing that you describe. I have seen really deep rich bluing on firearms before like you mention. That would be nice huh?

Anyone have any ideas on getting that trigger spring back in? I'm stuck and hating it.

I will post pictures of the finished gun soon. It looks modern. Any suggestions on the paint to use for the safety red dot??

Someone had painted white dots on their sights and posted they used Testas Acrylic paints (for models) from Walmart. I guess it takes the cleaning solutions but can be scraped off if necessary. Maybe that wouldn't be so good to use for the saftey in case it ets rubbed off when moving the saftey lever??

Just my 2 cents. Great job, watching people do stuff like this makes me want to try something!!

unfortunately, i have only one P-64. It runs so good that i can't even think of messing with it. yes TTH = that glassy bluing would be great !!
it seems like they have dipped the gun barrel in glass or plastic .
I also want to try that Dura-coat on a chinese SKS i have that is showing it's age now.
I turned a rusty, crappy looking Mossberg 500 into a sweet looking gun by bluing it 4 times . It was so foul looking on the outside that the owner just Gave it to me !! I am proud of how it looks now and it brought me great satisfaction to bring it back to life !
I used to use a cabinet blaster at work everyday to sandblast castings and i will get a cabinet of my own and try that D-C on the SKS.
how does Dura-coat look on wood?
an all black SKS might look nice.
Thanks for replying.... G
