And you realize, of course, that a P64 is merely one of several pistols chambered to fire the 9X18 Makarov round. It is not "a Makarov". That name is correctly applied only to the Pistolet Makarova.

Are there any "unfired" P-64s out there? Seems unlikely as they are surplus pistols.

And yet everyone knew exactly what was being discussed.Hurryin' Hoosier wrote:And you realize, of course, that a P64 is merely one of several pistols chambered to fire the 9X18 Makarov round. It is not "a Makarov". That name is correctly applied only to the Pistolet Makarova.
Please, let's not got there. This sort of "Only a PM is a 'true' Makarov" stuff is the reason why I left the Makarov sub on GunBoards and shook the dust off of my feet.
We can go to PM if you want to know why I think it's a foolish distinction.

I don't recall having addressed anything to you, Kirk, but thanks for your input. I do hope that what I said (to the OP) didn't spoil your day.lklawson wrote:And yet everyone knew exactly what was being discussed.Hurryin' Hoosier wrote:And you realize, of course, that a P64 is merely one of several pistols chambered to fire the 9X18 Makarov round.
