Trigger Failure

Post by kyrpa »

Today was the first time I could make it to the range in a few months. During my fourth or fifth magazine, the trigger on my P-64 went all the way back with no resistance whatsoever. Cleared the gun, flicked the safety on and off, reloaded, still nothing. I've never done more than field-strip my P-64 for basic cleaning, is there something obvious I should look for that might cause this when I fully take it apart? With the grips off, it looks like the trigger bar isn't catching anything whatsoever. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a lack of trigger spring, or broke trigger spring.

Agreed, there's a spring that pushes the sear up, it may have not been installed correctly (where 1 leg wasn't seated in the little notch in the pin, and it slipped off the pin).
