Sorry for the long delay....
Today's temp was 70 Fahrenheit (I think that's 25 Celsius). Clear skies.
Showed up at the range with my Pro Chrono and five different rounds. Between each string of five I let the pistol cool, swabbed the barrel with a patch soaked in Shooter's Choice and then dried it with lint free patches.
I did NOT test for accuracy. I did not even try to hold a target. I'm not an experienced Chronograph user and do not want to shoot it by accident. I would guess that the shot to shot consistency would correspond to accuracy.
All rounds were in brass cased reloadable cartridges. I did not bring Russian offerings this time around.
Note - No failures to fire, feed or extract. As usual this pistol just shoots.

Comments - Punishing in a P-64. Widest deviation. Probably akin to the Corbon +P Makarov. I've heard rumors that some Soviets loads were this rugged. I don't know, never shot genuine Soviet mil spec issue.

Winchester's "Metric" offering. Second best performer in consistency for a fraction of the Hornady CD price.
Brass recovery averaged sixty percent. That is, for every ten rounds shot four went missing. The P-64 is a great handgun. Just isn't reloader friendly.
95% means "95 percent confidence interval". As one Prof told me a long time ago, "95 percent confidence interval means if you repeat the test 100 times 95 of the trials will have data that lies within the low and high points of the 95 percent confidence interval.

Thanks for that. WOW--that PPU is moving. I've heard that a lot of the Winchester metric ammo is S&B.
Your chrony results give support to that.

good info. next time i got my chronograph setup i will test some of the steel case ammo.
Re: Another Chronograph Session
Nice results.
For comparison to my recently tested Bodyguard 380, the 9x18 does better.

Re: Another Chronograph Session
An earlier box of Winchester Metric that I had bought had the same green round carrier as the Selier & Bellot that I tested in the above sessions. The current version of Winchester that was tested used a white bullet carrier.fully machined wrote:Thanks for that. WOW--that PPU is moving. Might be, might not be. I do not know.

IIRC, a box of Winchester Metric 7.62x54R that I had said that it was made in the Czech Republic. Some folks even reported seeing S&B marked headstamps in boxes of Winchester Metric.
