P 64 with CCR's CP II finish and Marschal zebra wood grips

Post by P-220 »

Wow!!!!!

I arrived home from a business trip late last evening and much to my pleasant surprise, I found my P 64 had been delivered as well as my Marschal grips.

As many of you have seen, here is the before;

Here are some after pics. Sorry about the lighting, I will work on it.

I am not sure why, but I am fascinated with the P 64. I am thrilled with the way everything came together. Mary at CCR was fantastic to deal with and the good folks at Marschal made working with them a pleasure.

Can't think of a word to describe it! Beautiful combo and I would love to hear how you like those grips with the slight beavertail. I have s similar grip with the beavertail on order but don't know if it is an improvement over the standard Marschal grip or not.

Thanks for all the kind words.

The grips are amazing, but do add quite a bit of width.

I will try to get some better pics up.

Thanks for your comment about making the grips thicker. I think. I ordered
a grip similar to yours but without the finger grooves and now I am going to
have to order another with!

That alone would be ok but I have to 64's now, one with his grips and one without
that I just ordered for so I will have to buy another to go with the grips with groves.
Not to mention that I will have to have it finished as you did yours. Just to look at.

This addiction is insane but that is what it is. I could get one of my existing guns done
but that one has a nick on the right side of the sight and would be less than perfect and the
other has such a good bluing job I hate to mess with it.

So I will have to look for another one with no nicks on it. I don't care how the rest of it looks
as it will have new grips and a new finish.

Simply too nice to not have one. A great piece of art when it is all done.

Does the beavertail cure any slide bite issues? That's really the only issue I've ever had shooting this gun. Any possibility we could get a measurement of the width of the grips on the gun in comparison to the stock grips?

It looks awesome, by the way!

Thanks again for all the kind words.

it appears the tail may help prevent the bite, but I still have not shot it.

Here are some more pics of the grips, again, sorry they are not very good pics. I will try to get soem better pics this weekend.
