Mak Ammo

Post by roblox84 »

Does anyone know have any websites for some good and cheap ammo for the p64? Yesterday I went to one of my local gun shops and they wanted $22 for a box of 50 remington 9x18. There was also a box of 25 Hornady hollow points for $25. Another gun store around my work has them for $13 but its a little further so I was wondering if anyone here buys them online?

The places I have most frequently bought from are:

Sportsman's Guide

and
J&G sales

Happy shooting,

http://www.ammoengine.com

That's where I go, it's a search engine for ammo prices. It searches most every place on the internet. Just pick 9x18mm Makarov and it'll list them by price per box or price per round, etc.

None of these were listed on there, I just did searches at all the other major vendors on the net.
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com has Silver Bear FMJ (94gr) for $10.49 per box
http://www.aimsurplus.com has Silver Bear FMJ (94gr) for $10.95 per box
http://www.jgsales.com has Silver Bear FMJ (94gr) for $11.50 per box
http://www.classicarms.us has some Russian FMJ (92gr) kind for $9.19 per box
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com has TulAmmo FMJ (92gr) for $10.19 per box

In the past I have used AmmunitionToGo and thought they were awesome.

I have bought ammo on all websides. No more for me, due to high S/H. For now on I go to the gunshow. You get it and go home with it. I paid $12.99, For 9x18 a box of (50) at the show. Never pay for ammo online.....the S/H will get you!!!

It depends on how much you buy. If you're like me and only buy a box or two at a time, it is not worth it. (Thank goodness I reload). However, if you buy several boxes at a time, the amount of S&H is negligible by the time you divide the cost over how many boxes you bought. However, you do make a good point Peter.

I'm a new guy here. Have been lurking for several weeks. I'm also waiting for Christmas to open that little box under the tree.

On this thread just wanted to add that one of these ammo people, Ammoman or ammotogo (can't remember which) pays the freight on ammunition orders. Doesn't seem to be much if any higher than others but I think you have to buy 500 rounds.

Ammoman has free shipping.

Yes to make the shipping worth while I buy at least 500 rounds.

Yeah shipping is a killer. I wish you could buy ammo on Amazon, it would be perfect with the amazon prime free shipping, lol. Anyway's I was looking at ammunitiontogo.com and came across this ammo and I wanted to get some opinions on it. "6rds - 9x18 Makarov Glaser Blue Safety Slug 75gr." Ammo. It seems like a good ammo to fill up the 6 rd clip with and just leave in the night stand. Or would the hornady critical defense ammo be better?

Well, if you see this in the next 30 minutes, Sportsman's Guide has free shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase today only. Code is SH341 I ordered 500 rounds of my go-to plinking ammo; Brown Bear. You could order just one box and have it shipped for free if you wished.
