This small groups I see/hear about intrigue me. Are ya'll sittin', kneelin', standin', usin' sandbags or what? I'm afraid the only way I'd come up w/2" groups @ 25yd is to clamp the 64 in a vise. Even then some1 else would have 2 pull the trigger.........

I was i awe and with all due respect the range master calls the faa to alert them when I am qualifying . well I might not be that bad but as long as I take the midsection out and I qualify every 6 mos to carry I am happy.

I'm with you nicksterdemus. Noway could I get a 2" group at 25yds. Lately I've been shooting 7" round targets from 25 feet and I get 4" to 5" groups. From 75 ft I could consistanly hit a siluette type target but not with a tight group. I shoot standing using both hands. Some say that certain ammo is more accurate. I havent had my P64 long so Ive only used a couple kinds of ammo so far. Mostly Silver Bear 94gr FMJ.

The 2" groups that I shoot are at 7-10 yds. The pistol could probably do it at 25, but not my aging eyes . . .

I use the two handed Isosceles stance when shooting the P-64, at 7-10 years I usually get a 3-4 inch group. I usually shoot at 9" paper plates at 50 ft using the same stance and usually put all rounds in the plate at that distance unless I rapid fire, and then I usually put at 3-4 rounds in the 9" plate. I have practiced a lot so that may make a difference, but the P-64 is very accurate for it's size.

Is the 1st round DA? Even SA is impressive 4 me if ya not using bags or a rest of some sort. I only shoot 2 hand standing but I did tag the bull once, 1 @ 2,3,4&6" @ 20 yards. I thought I was Superman........................

I shoot clay pigeons.(not moving). 7 yards offhand I can get about 85% 25 yards from a bench or bracing with a post I get about the same or a little less.

You young whipper snappers, I can remember those days, but just barely, that's pretty good shooting. At 62 I don't have the eyes or the steady hands like I use to have, that's why I keep practicing, at lease they don't have to call FAA yet when I do shoot, ;D not yet at least. ::)

I never really measure my grouping , but the last time I went to the range the state trooper next to me left early. I don't think he liked the fact that I ran my target back and forth until I matched his distance, then proceeded to knock the color out of the center of the target. I must admit it was a better day than normal, but my P-64 and my Mak have never made me look bad. ;D

Hey PaPa me 62 and aging fast. Yes my range master has FAA on speed dail. Actually like I said I take the center of man size out when I qualify I only shoot combat course but all off hand . not bad for a guy as old as dirt, at least to me. when I cant my friends have a bag of rocks for me to carry.

Just in the interest of full disclosure . . .

When I said that I have shot 2" groups at 7-10 yds, that does not mean that they are my typical ho-hum targets. The pistol shoots that well, and on occasion I do too.

. . . and no, I do not shoot my first shot in da. I am happy to hit the paper in da, since I haven't changed out the spring on my p-64.

nicksterdemus,

March 4th I'll turn 63, in a word, "YELP", but don't despair, life is good as long as you know your limitations. ??? Things tend to slow down a bit, I tell my wife I not as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I ever was, and she told me, "as long as you are comparing yourself to folks you own age", tee hee, we dated in high school and 38 years later and a coupe marriages for me and one for her and now we be married 5 years and happy as all get out. ;D

anjdrifter,

So the range master has FAA on speed dial..... ;D I don't care who you are, that rite there's funny LOL. Come on down to KY for your shooting, where I shoot there aren't any range masters and for that matter there aint no FAA feller's either.

kempin,

That's still good shooting. 8-) In the beginning with my 64's I shot SA mostly, but all three of my P-64's have the original springs and I have left them that way because after several hundred rounds in each the DA is not bad on any of them, however, to each his own. ;)

Just in case:
I found out Russian discussion about PM. So, for round nose 9x18MAK bullet, 25m are maximum for groups and precision shooting. Remember that shape 9x19Luger bullet is different. Russians trying to get more stopping power and sacrifice air dynamics

Kempin, I shoot da the 1st but I did cut the mainspring. What's funny is that I make targets outa feed sacks & magic marker while hanging them w/duct tape on galvanized half sheets of square duct. 22-24 gauge leftovers. When the light dims or it's bad overcast I have to lower my sights off the paper & on the shiney metal to get my bearing & then raise back up to the target. The most fun I have is blastin' 22cb's in2 the metal as they make a bulge n drop 2 da ground. Pop..........................tink.
