I was able able to test it the first time . This gun shoots is all i can say. Fired about 80 rds no FTF or eject. AMazing for a small gun this size. Average groups were 3 inches at 15 yds on slow steady fire supported on a table. This is also my first small gun. I also fired my Russian mak with the adjustable sight in 9 mm mak, the results are astounding. Ammo used in both guns were barnaul 95 gr HP, silver bear 95 gr HP and FMJ. The few Mesko I had were also giving me tight groups. No wonder these guns were well conceived and adopted by the Polish army bec they are super accurate for the size it is. It gives a distinctive kick and punch. I notice you have to really grasp the thing tight to control and once you did that you can hit POA. Its not bad at all. Having htis as a back up for CCW is reassuring.I m hooked and I might get me a CZ 82 as they are known to b e tight shooters as well.
Merry Christmas to all.

Another First Time P-64 Success Story! It is a fantastic little pistol, isn't it? I love Polish guns especially the P-64. I'm with you on the CZ82 also. Or maybe a CZ83. My first P-64 really sparked a resurgence of interest in Maks and other pistols that use the 9x18 round.

Najaf, I also have a Russian Mak, but I am more accurate with the P-64. I don't understand all I know about the adjustable sights. I plan to go back to the gun range next week to turn the screw some more on the Russian Mak. Also, the CZ82 is probably going to be my next purchase. Later Don

dolang1, its fairly easy. The russ IJ 70 I got is a joy to shoot and very accurate . For windage the small knob on the rt side goes like this. Turning it counterclockwise moves it towards the right. Turning it clockwise is gonna move it left side. Center the v notch in the middle straight towards the front sight. Adjust at 7 yds at range. The top big screw I turned it all the way clockwise then counterclock- wise x 5 clicks and I zeroed it bullseye at 25 yds.

I m waiting for Dec 30 as theres a local gunshow here in HOuston. Military Gun Supply o fDallas, TX will will be coming and they have plenty of surplus CZ 82 in VG condition. Ive seen them last Oct were priced at $219 with all acc plus tax. I should have gotten but that was it. I hope they will have plenty to choose from. Most of the one s Ive seen were really in excl conditions most in factory grease. The black paints are still very dark. i guess they bring along the best of their stock in gunshows to showcase to people. Its amazing how the 9 x 18 mak cal performs in a makarov, I bet it s more inherently accurate vs the .380. Ill give you guys a report if ever i get a CZ 82.

The problem is I now have a mak and a 63 hungerian and another 64 on order today. . also got a cz52 (i know different bullet) then the sks followed what next a 47 my goodness I am an addict. must be Gods way of punishing me for having a little extra cash around. love the this mak caliber. each one shoots fine but theP 64 does the best in every test. in ccw cant be beat.

Seems to be a lot sales at all the major players right now what is there to lose a lot of gun for the money, Had new bersa thunder I returned it after three problems in two times out and less then 20 round thru it.

My P-64 is my everyday carry gun - back and forth to work and such. I dont use a holster for it, I just keep it in my pocket or tucked in my waist under my belt. I find it's Walther PPK size perfect for carry when I'm going to my girlfriends boss's Chistmas party!! really hides well. I also carry my CZ-75B and CZ-82 for those trips to the mall and the big city where extra ammo might be needed.
I usta want a Makarov, till I saw the prices and bought a CZ-82 and a P-64 for the came price as a Mak. I have shot a Mak or 2 at the range, and I gotta say they just didnt impress me as much as the little p-64 or the CZ-82.

P-64 - smaller than the mak 1 or 2 rounds less in the mag
CZ-82 - Same size as the mak, but a full 12 rounds in the mag!

Both guns were most deffinatly more accurte than the maks.

the only bad raps these 2 guns get are from Mak owners.go figure!

Ah another guy who carries loose in the pocket. I like probably everyone else with a weapon have at least two or three holsters for each one always looking for the perfect fit or concealment. But with the 64 it can fit in almost anysize pocket or just plain tucked under my belt. the size is perfect for non holster. wasnt it the old Kojak who never carried in holster. I was looking at some shoulder rigs saw some place at some auction the other day but cant find them now.

Honestly guys, in the cooler part of the year, I like the P-64 in a coat or jacket pocket. No one ever know its there.

You guys were taling about the CZ-82 and I have one under the Christmas tree now. I will have it in my hands tomorrow night if I can talk the wife into opening our stuff then, LOL She is pretty good about getting me at least one firearm at Christmas, and I wanted a CZ-82 to go with my other Czech pistol collection.

"the only bad raps these 2 guns get are from Mak owners.go figure".

I think the only ragging I've seen anywhere lately is from the P-64 owners. I like my P-64, but I don't have to compare it to the Makarov to appreciate it.

I also have a new CZ-83 in 9x18, and it is noticeably larger than a Makarov. If you line the rear sights up with both pistols facing the same direction the pistol muzzles line up but the 83 extends an inch to the rear past the Makarov. Plus, it's a wider pistol. I also really appreciate my 83, but I don't have to compare it to the Makarov to like it.

Do P-38 owners feel obliged to throw barbs at Lugers?

I'm a Mak owner, and i don't give the CZAK a bad rap...LOL! I don't know about the guns themselves, but I shoot better with the Mak-- but the P64 is great for pocket carry...so they both have their place in my inventory...

guilty as charged! yes I know I should really get a holster for my P-64 and I really do have one.......a biachi in the pants holster for the PPK and it does fit (after cutting some stitches out) but honestly its more comfortalbe just stuck in my pocket or stuck in my waist band (no holster)
O' and yes I do use holsters for my other guns....Triple K makes a "secret agent" for the mak that fits the CZ-82 like a glove!!!

My problem with holsters is pretty much the same problem I have with pistols- too many of them. I have a couple of holster/mag pouch/belt rigs for every pistol except the military types that I tend to shoot occasionally and not carry. My Sig P220 was my favorite carry for years. Of course I have a custom horsehide IWB rig and a cowhide strongside rig. Sometimes when I would buy a new pistol I would already have ordered extra mags, grips and leather before the pistol even arrived. And when in doubt as to color or style of grips or leather I just get two. Later on I'll sell what I don't use. Good deal on something and I only want one? I get two or more. I justify it by telling myself I am saving on shipping and besides my buddies always want one too. I also used to be bad about having my pistols customized, especially with 1911s. Novak sights, beavertail, ambi safety, action job and refinishing. I have gotten over most of that. Oh, well! There are worse addictions!
