Re: Where to buy a P64.
I have 3 P64s. The first 2 were from J & G Sales and both were beyond excellent. Of course, J & G is out of stock now.
I received one from MCS Firearms this past week, and I was disappointed. The right grip was pretty well chewed up and it seemed as if the springs had already been replaced. I will keep it, but it will be my beater, if it is reliable. I've taken it to the range once and fired about 50 rounds without any malfunction. The finish wasn't "bad," but nowhere near the finish on the 2 from J & G. If the MCS pistol was worth $179, the J & G pistols were worth $279 each! (I paid $159.95 for each of the J & G Sales pistols.)
Just be aware that one dealer's "excellent" rating is another dealer's "good" rating.
I am eye-balling the ones at SOG. Anyone receive one from their latest shipment?

Re: Where to buy a P64.
I have another one coming in this week. Full report when it arrives.....
Re: Where to buy a P64.
I have handled two examples of the P64 from SOG in the last few weeks - one delivered the second week of July, and one just the week before last. No handpick on either. They were both in fantastic condition. One appeared practically unfired, the other had just some slight holster wear around the muzzle.

JAGGUY, yours would be from the newest shipment, right?
fish, I think the ones you handled were not from the last shipment. SOG ran out about the 26th of July (?) got their hands on more pronto. That's my guesstimate. Were the ones you handled the triangular hammers?

One was a 1969 (round hammer) the other was a 1976 (triangle hammer). The 69 was in slightly better condition, but they both were darn near prisitne. No handpick.
The second was recieved about week before SOG ran out on the 26th.

A couple days ago Cabelas had them for $199. The one in the case looked real good. I already have a P64 so I bought a Snake Slayer IV. They should make a good dual.

I have been wondering if I should pull the trigger and get a second 64. Looks like I should have moved faster- SOG is out of them again. Sure hope they get more.

SOG has them back in stock again.
