Birchwood Casey® Presto® Gun Blue Pen

Post by R.A.M. »

Anyone used this pen for touch ups on your guns. I have some holster wear that I'd like to correct.

Thanks,

Not me, but Birchwood Casey is a fine product. If you try it let us know how it works for you.

It works okay, although it tends to rub off, and won't match the original finish. Good for some things, not good for most things.
Carrying a Mak may not be PC, but whatever works.

I have been using them for years. In fact, I used one on my P-64! My P-64 had a great finish except for some slight holster wear near the muzzle. Some minor touch up with the pen on the sharp edges and it was good as new. The touched up areas are only noticeable if you know where to look while holding the pistol in front of your face under a bright light. The touched up areas will wear off (so did the original finish), but it is easy to do another touch up as needed.

I bought the pistol with the intention that it would be a "beater" that I could throw in the truck. However, it looks so good and works so well that I can't help but baby it. Except for the touch up and a slip-on Pachmayr grip, I am leaving it "as is."
