Got my new 1973

Post by 115grfmj »

Same vintage as me ;D. I cant believe how wonderful this thing is, and it's drop dead gorgeous 8-). The blueing is similar to the old smith and wesson deep blue. Took her to the range to burn up 100rds of barnual fmj, one hole groups at seven yards, and around 4inchs at 25yds :o I already replaced the mainspring with the PPK 18#, and the DA is a totally different animal. She bite me though, left a huge blood blister on the web of my hand. The recoil I would estimate to be more agressive than my 686 .357 with 125's. All in all I'm in love. Here's mine with my set of Zee's
tiger stripped O.D. green and black.

115, you're now a full fledged P-64 lover!

You must have big hands. Just alter you're grip a little so that big fat web stays out of the way of the slide plane.

Also remember what we said about ammo over 95 grains causing excessive recoil, because of the mass it's pushing. Hot 95 gr or less seems to be OK.
