I have a 1973 with a thumb rest. When I shoot it I get the red RR track in the web of my hand . I put a slip on rubber grip and started to try to remember to slip my finger under the finger extension of the mag . This helps out a lot , but I was reading some about the non thumbrest grips and was wondering if they were better on large hands to keep from getting pinched and also how does it do with the felt recoil .
TIA

Grip Question
Hi Spot,
My grips are stock and do not have the thumb rest. I have large hands. The problems at first was the slide getting the web between thumb and finger. I watch my grip now and do not have any trouble.

Grip Question
I have large hands and both types of grips. Neither seems to make a difference in the "web bite" area.
We learn just like rats do that when they pull the wrong lever and get shocked to start doing things differently
After a few hundred rounds and a few band-aids, I have corrected my grip and no longer get bitten.
