9x18 95 grain +p ammo, can the p 64 handle this ammo or should I not use +p in this little gun?

This just my opinon, but this is a small pistol and recoil operated. The +P may be a bit much as a stready diet. Once in a while may not hurt it, but constant use may shorten its life. I don't have anything to back thisup with, so it is just my .02 worth.

kinda what I figured. Thanks for reply. Dansammo.com is selling the plus p stuff and I thought it probably would be a bit much for target shooting at the range.

Since the bullet weight is 95 gr., the recoil would be less for regular ammo. I wonder if the +P with a higher pressure would have the same felt recoil as a regular Mak round? My major problem with +P is the high pressure generated.

Is this +P round designed for the Makarov? Does anyone have any experience with shooting this in the Mak?

Anybody fired this yet? Is this ok for any 9x18 pistol? Was it designed for use with a 9x18 PA-63 (Hungarian I think also)? I don't have a 63, but curious if it would be ok in a Mak or a 82.

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't been able to find 9x18 ammo anywhere. The +P might be a bit much for more than occasional use in my P-64's, but my Maks need fed, too.... ;)

save the brass it's reloadable you may not reload but someone will buy it

what we used to do is stand in one spot an shoot and watch where the fist case landed the take a bed sheet with no holes in it and spread it out where the case landed we would catch 85% of the cases in the sheet pick it up by the 4 corners and have a big bag of cases

I really don't think there is any such animal as "+P" 9x18 ammo. +P refers to a SAAMI spec for higher than normal pressure cartridges, and I don't believe they have any such standard for 9x17 (.380 acp) or 9x18 or 7.63x17 (.32 acp). There is a +P spec for 9mm (9x19) but no +P+ spec. That is just a label used by manufacturers. Chrony data I've seen published for 9x19 shows +P+ "LEO only" 115gr just a tad slower than Cor-Bon 115gr +P. Go figure.
