Just curious to know what your other favorite calibers might be. This also seems to be a group that doesn't do caliber flames.

When I'm not firing my p-64, I enjoy my .45 LC revolver. With 800 FPS cowboy loads there isn't much kick, big, dumb and slow. It makes happy big holes in the target. And loaded with CGI birdshot, it turns rattlesnakes into pink clouds without much effort up at camp, I hardly have to aim!

The poll only allows one pick. Can you change to allow for multiple choices?

I wish I could. But the way it is set up, you just have to pick a favorite....

I guess it won't give a comprehensive look, but we can chime in with our favorites.

.40 S&W is a nice caliber, BTW, I have a friend with a S&W in that, and it is a joy to shoot.

I shoot a S&W Sigma SW9VE in 9x19. After shooting my cousin's Glock 19, I decided the Sigma just had a better feel to it. His trigger is better, but I shoot more accurate with the Smith - go figure. For those not familiar with the SW9VE series, they are modeled almost entirely from a G19 with subtle differences (hence the lawsuit). Is my gun battle tested? Can I bury it in the mud and still shoot it? Can I drop it from a plane at 25,000 feet? I don't know, but probably. If I need these requirements, I have more problems than a handgun could solve. I love my Sigma and would recommend people to pick it up and shoot it - it's a lot of fun.

my cz-52 7.62x25 wasn't listed. Its a shame to be listed as "other" on a milsurp board.

I LOVE shooting the 1911A1 in .45ACP. This is my favorite handgun of all times, but I still love them all. I guess that next to the .45APC, it would be the 9mmP, and finally the .40 S&W. This is for pistols of course.

In rifles, I like the 8mm then the .7.62 NATO. I have an MG42 and 2 1919A4 belt fed guns. In bolt actions, I prefer the 8mm in a German K98k.

Vinne,

well that's only because I kind of suck and didn't list it. Sorry for the lack of love for the 7.62X25, wasn't intentional at all!

For concealed carry, I've got the Taurus ultralite in 38 special with a hip grip or the Guardian, but when I go to the range I like the P-64

In addition to my P-64, I have a couple .45s in my collection...

I also have a Colt 1903, CZ-52, and a Bulgarian Makarov.

Sadly, you have put the .22 and the .25 together....they are like comparing apples to oranges... I love the .22LR as it is great practice and a decent PPRl. The .25 doesn't belong being emassed with the .22 JMHO...

I too struggled with the just pick one ...

When it absolutely needs to be hit hard: 460 Rowland (1060 ft-lb)
When it absolutely scares me in the middle of the night: 10mm (15+1 of 700 ft-lb GoldDots)
When it absolutely needs to be hit rapidly: 45acp (nothing like a 1911 for double-tapping)
When it absolutely needs to be shaken and not stirred: 7.65 Browning out of a Walther PP
When it absolutely can't recoil: 7.62x38 (Nagant Revolver) or 22LR
When it absolutely needs to be nostalgic: 38S&W (1887 revolver)
When it absolutely needs to obscure my position: .44cal 1868 Army reproduction (black powder)

I know I have a lot more reloading dies than this, but this covers the basic needs ;D

I enjoy .45Colts, .45ACP .454, generally anything 45. I also shoot lots of .38 and .357. I collect Smith & Wesson revolvers. And I shoot a wide assortment of rifles.
