VERY unscientific but thought I'd share. Got some Barnaul 95gr HP and tried them out. Here's a pic
4 layers of cotton shirt
3 wet Yellow Pages Phone Books
Penetrated about 1/2 way into the third book.
I'd say it expanded!!!

I can't see the photo since I am out of town and the Client's computer won't show it. But I hope to be home tomorrow and get to see the results! I agree, this is good info and looks like the Barnaul will work good!
Edit - I got home last night and finally got to see the photo. Man, that thing really opened up more than I would have imagined. Great photo, thanks for posting!

Have you ever fooled with the Hornady XTP bullets? I have recovered them--unscientifically, of course--expanded to the size of a quarter and almost as flat. They definitely do what they are designed to do. I have a few of them on my reloading bench; they open up just like a flower. I don't have the means to post a pic, though.
