SW Ohio / SE Indiana P-64 shoot?

Post by donnerwetter58 »

With the number of P-64 owners in the greater Cincinnati / Dayton area it might be fun to organize a shoot.
There is a nice public range at Brookville State Reservoir in SE Indiana. There are picnic grounds in close vicinity as well.
A great way to meet some fellow forum members and burn some powder.
Any interest?

Dave

Hmmmm, that sounds like fun, I'm interested. Might need info on Brookville, Indiana. You say it's in the southwest part of the state?

electross,
Thanks for catching the mistake. Brookville Reservoir is in Southeast IN. The shooting range is at the Northeast side of the lake in an area called Quakertown.
I'd also like to invite orchidhunter....to hold targets.

;D We have to behave ourselves. But I am laughing. See if a shoot generates any interest. I thought I saw camping nearby so I'm set.

Suppose orchidhunter isn't invited.
Does that help generate more interest?
The outdoor range is nice. The rangemaster couldn't be better.
There's never a crowd and the snow is gone.
Was the perfect day there yesterday with all of 3 to 5 people on the range.
Do we need free beer and bullets?

It's good to see a bit of interest. Seems like everyone is into camping as well.
There is a nice campground in the Quakertown area of Brookville reservoir. The shooting range is in the same area.
The range has 25, 50 and 100 yard sections. The firing line is covered in case of rain. Target holders are provided. It's a nice shooting range.
Brookville Reservoir is a large lake open to power boats for fishing, skiing or whatever.
On the Northeast side of Brookville Reservoir is Whitewater Memorial State Park. This is my favorite camping area. Whitewater has a smaller lake for excellent bluegill fishing. No powerboats on Whitewater...trolling motors only.
Both lakes have beach areas. Liberty, IN is close by.
Haven't pinned a date yet. Maybe the latter part of June?
Thanks for the responses.

June sounds ok but it would be nice if gotmak could attend. No matter when you plan it, someone won't be able to attend. I'm open for recommendations. ;D

The weekend of the 21st is booked, and the 28th, tentatively booked, but may change. I could be available the other weekends in June.

That leaves the 14th and the 7th. I have to attend a wedding for a friends daughter on the 14th of June. It's like herding cats isn't it. ;D

gotmak,
A date hasn't been chosen yet. I'm open to suggestions. I figured the latter part of June is far enough down the road that plans could be made. Most any weekend would work for me as long as there is a few weeks notice. The long weekends (Memorial Day weekend and the 4th of July) would probably be weekends to avoid as the parks will be overwhelmed.

electross,
I agree. The more the merrier. I know there are a lot more forum members in the area as well.

The intent is a fun day of shooting and picnicking.
