Re: Chronograph Results
My ProChrono results using 95gr Berry's Plated bullets and W231 powder, which ends up costing about 12 cents a round (Graf C&R discount bullet 6.5 cents, powder gun club 1.5 cent, primer gun club 3 cents, 9mm luger brass priced at $50 for 1000 trimmed to .706 and reloaded 5 times for 1 cents eac...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
couldn't understand , why you resized the cases twice and belled the cases twice, no need to do that, do it just like Jun , you shouldn't have any problem's , can't help with Barry's bullet's cast my own NORM Just an update to this as well. The next batch I did was to use expander die to apply just...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
Replacement dies arrived and installed. The Expander die plug is a little different looking, but both measure exactly the same. Same results... After swapping all dies, setup the same way, same occasional cocking of bullet, and same mark left on case during seating/crimping.. Next, installed origina...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
Late to reply with a quick update. No, I have not tried the trimmed fired cases after firing. So far just once fired 9x19 trimmed to 9x18, then firing those. Going through my supply of once fired 9x19, trimming a new batch, shooting them, and storing the newly trimmed after firing until all stock is...

Re: Chronograph Results
So how do you like the ProChrono in general? Did you also get the USB Digital interface with software? Mine will be here tomorrow. Hard to beat Grafs price of $85 for the ProChrono and $36 for the USB Digital Interface with software. I have never used factory ammo in the P-64, only Berry's Plated bu...

Re: New guy with a new (to me) P64.
This weekend we were taking video's of my new S&W 500 Magnum, and during a break took some video's of the wife shooting my P-64, (it's "her" gun now, upgrading from a CZ27). In the wide open area, I could see how far the cases went. Around 30 feet in the 5 o'clock area. All landed with...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
Dwight, thanks for the input. I have tried different flares with same results. Maybe it must be exactly right? juniustaylor How does the RN tip of the MBC bullet compare with the tip on the Berry's? I am thinking perhaps the slick round Berry's plated tip might be causing some issue with my Lee seat...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
..(snip) I trim them with a 9mm pilot to 18mm because I got tired of flaring the mouth, trying to trim them with the Lee case trimmer and then they seize up when the mandrel of the guide hits the narrow brass again. So, I bought a Lyman Universal trimmer so I can just set the cutter up to my specif...

Re: Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
Thanks for the replies. I looked at it this way. Two processes. The first process was to turn the 9x19 into 9x18 cases. To fit the cutter, this required belling or flaring the mouths larger. But to also cut to size, from a more correct size, I resized first. The portion removed was from the bell or ...

Re: Best source for 9x18 Bullets
Looks like this has a yearly bump, so here's a bump for 2012. Pricing bullets and it looks like the common 93gr lead costs around $47 delivered for 500. The Berry's plated currently cost $50 delivered for 500 (actually less, but free shipping over $50 so I usually add a plastic storage case to get t...

Difficulties loading Berry's Plated bullets
I'm having a hard time keeping these short bullets lined up squarely during seating, which ends up damaging about 1 out of 10 bullets. Using once fired 9x19 Winchester +P nickel plated cases that I first run through Lee sizing die, then powder die to enlarge mouth for case cutter, then trimmed to ar...

Re: Peening the slide
Inside of my slide... Note the drag marks of the hammer on the safety itself. They line up with these "peened" marks. That's why I figure they were probably caused by the hammer just rubbing them until they became more of a slope than a wall. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/t_juniu...

Just ordered 2 from SOG for $17.95 each + an unknown shipping amount. Will post up when I get them to let you guys know the condition and shipping time/charge. It took about a week, but I just received two from SOG. They raised the price after I ordered, and charged me a little more than what they ...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Thanks for the great forum.
Lurking here and reading all the info has helped me tremendously.
Now I'm busting out with a bunch of questions, as well as a couple things I've experienced with the P64.
The P64 is my new favorite.
Again, thanks for the forum. I would be lost without it.
