Re: Stop The Ban that is coming!
The actual numbers are pretty clear. There is absolutely no reason to limit self-loading rifles or pistols and their magazines. It's pretty transparent that by giving them a false names "assault weapon" that instills fear your goal is to attack the rights of legal gun owners. The 2nd Amend...

Re: Safety Spring Stuck, Removal Help?
It looks like the hole for the extractor and the hole for the safety spring line up, do they/are they connected? If so I could punch it out from the back, but I don't want to try that until I know for sure. Per this question; No, the do not connect. The are two separate holes that are machined in f...

Re: Family Guns
Norm, I saw that episode that you made the firing pin flat spring for the Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon. When I heard your name I said to myself "I know that name, why". The more I thought about it the quicker it lead me back to this forum. I didn't want to dime you out by name though. So I j...

Re: Has anyone used a Fobus PPK holster for their P64?
You could try it. But I really don't think it would fit correctly. Unfortunately the trigger guard on the P-64 is just a little bit to large to fit most hard PPK holsters.

Re: Spare parts storage
Oh, Also I know some people like to use key/toe style tags like the ones below. But I'm not a fan of those on gun parts. http://www.thekeyholder.com/catalog/4a_1_52_1.JPG http://www.pixelscrapper.com/legacy/sites/default/files/imagecache/resize_300_nocrop/assets/user-1/node-1918/image/marisa-lerin-c...

Re: Spare parts storage
+1 On Ziploc bags. You can get them assorted in small to large sizes. Get the ones with the white strip like the ones pictured below, it makes it easier to label what that part is. You can find these in craft stores/sections or you can order them by the 100s to 1000s for pretty cheap (cheaper than a...

Re: 9mm Makarov Ammo....
Is a bit scarce right now. Just ordered 3 boxes of PPU from Cabela's(should have ordered more.) I really want a 22LR conversion kit for my Bulgarian. Big gun show new weekend, wish me luck. Around here (Fayetteville, N.C.) the 22Lr is not doing any much better. I can still find 9x18mak in gun store...

Re: Slide stuck all the way back
Some folks don't know that you have to remove an empty magazine before it will allow the slide to come forward. Yeah, I had assumed he had already done that. He said this occurred after only two rounds so it would not have been empty. Plus you should NEVER work on any firearm unless you've removed ...

Re: Slide stuck all the way back
Greetings all, I took my new-to-me p-64 out to the range today after having two gunsmiths check it out (both said it was in great condition). After two rounds of Hornady Custom through it, the slide is now jammed/stuck solid all the way back. Any ideas as to why, or how to fix it? For starters I wo...

Re: springs again
Safeties are there for a reason that's why they are called a safety, I use them on all my carry pieces. Don't use at your or others risk. Yes as I stated: "Some frown on this. But it's how I've been trained, and practice. Yes there is more potential for an accident, but when carrying there is ...

Re: P-83 with 2001 production date?
So now seeing the pictures with the serial number it looks like you have a combination of both what Curly and I said. Just speculation here, but I think that's the last of the last production run started some time in the mid 90s. Most likely sold into the commercial market rather than Military/Polic...

Re: springs again
good info, i do try to keep my thumb over the hammer when im holstering, and yes, i did notice that is the natural position of the hammer, i do see how one could push down on the hammer making it contact the firing pin, although i dont know if that would be enough pressure on the firing pin to set ...

Re: p-83 double action problem
weasel640, when you had your hammer out, could you see the spring that was in between the sear and the hammer on your pistol. i want to make sure that there is one there. Yes there was a spring in there. That sucks that it's taking this long to not get the right parts. You can see in my pics how at...

Re: springs again
if you move the safty into fire the hammer stays put at about 1/8 inch from the firing pin, kind of like a half cock Although it might look like a "half cock" it's not. It's the natural place of rest when not in motion. That iswhere the tension of the spring holds it. When cocked and the ...
