I should have clarified: I didn't read all 241 posts in the thread.
As I think back on it, I pour boiling water down the barrels of my Mosins and they don't rust.
Thanks for the clarification, oddshot.

How do you blue an old pistol?
I didn't read the whole thing, but do you plug the barrel or something to keep the rust out, or do you just keep your chemicals off of the barrel?

Fourth of July Shooting Match comments
What will we do for targets when Makarov.com shuts down? [/rhetorical]
Fritzhund - I thought the rules said P-64's and "clones" like the BR-61, SMC-918, etc. Does that include a PA-63? They're both kind of like PPK's aren't they?

Sad announcement today...
I hope everything works out for the best for them. I'll miss them. I've never been able to be a high volume buyer, but I always felt better knowing they were there.

p-83 question and old revolver talk
That's a good point about the Liberator, but I don't know.... I tend to be more of a shooter than a collector. The Liberator would be an investment/curiosity. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to have a P-83. Just that I don't know that I can get $400 worth of excited. And if you're right about a bunch...

p-83 question and old revolver talk
Call me an elitist, but I can't get $400 worth of excited over a stamped pistol.

That actually sounds kind of fun. I need one day a week set aside to play with my guns on the bench. ;D

We don't have internet at home. My daughter enjoys shooting. Can she shoot if she's not a member of the forum? Would it be cheating if I set her up an email account and had her come in and sign up and read some posts? I don't imagine she would actually participate in the forum. though. Mostly I'm ju...

I'd also like to throw beasleydano into the hat. Moderating always seemed like a difficult and mostly thankless job to me. Are you sure we don't mean "throw nbender and beasleydano under the bus ?" ;D I still feel fairly new here, so I'll abstain from voting and just support whoever may b...

Brown Bear 9x18 at Aim
Does anybody have any comments about the Brown Bear? A local gun show is coming up in a couple of weeks, and the ammo guy there will have Brown Bear.

I've got that holster. My Mak fits way better than my P-64. I'd look for the PPK holster.
